I dig that you used the Winchester M1866 Musket for the example. Most show the SRC some love. The musket is very apropos given the conflicts being discussed. :Looks great! Keep 'em coming!

The guns in good condition are very reliable. Being the first smokeless design the guns are very overbuilt and quite stout. The key is to make sure to operate the action sharply to fully actuate the feed mechanism. - Michael Gerard

Btw, I was shocked to see a Mle 27 lebel rifle, i never saw one in France ! Was it in 7,5 x 58 mm or 7,5 x 54 mm ? If it's in 7,5 x 54, i'll be shocked again !
